Vamac® MR is a terpolymer of ethylene, methylacrylate, and a small amount of acid cure site monomer. The high MA content results in a clear, amorphous polymer. Vamac® MR has a mild acrylic odor. Use adequate ventilation during storage and processing to prevent accumulation of residual vapors. Storage stability is excellent.
Vamac® MR is used as a high temperature, impact modifier for polymeric systems including acrylic adhesives, epoxy and other thermoset resins and thermoplastic systems. Vamac® MR is characterized by the following features:
• High thermal stability (decomposition > 280°C)
• No crystallinity
• High polarity
• Reactivity
• Low temperature flexibility.
Unlike other Vamac® grades, Vamac® MR does n
performance, especially adhesive performance. Vamac® MR is clear and will not discolor resin systems. It has a solubility parameter of 9.1 and is readily soin various solvents, such as toluene, MEK and acetone. Vamac® MR comes in solid, 25 kg bales. Time to dissolve Vamac® MR into a solvent is greatly improved by first size reducing into smaller pieces.
